This four week program prepares drivers to meet the necessary requirements to drive a tractor trailer vehicle. In this course we teach students the DOT Safety Rules and Regulations, State Regulations, and proficiency development in the skills required to obtain a Commercial Driver's License. The total time for this course is 160 hours. Students are required to attend 40 hours of classroom training, covering such subjects as DOT, logbooks, defensive driving, air brakes, and job search techniques. Field training is a total of 120 hours. This includes both observation and behind the wheel time. Field training consists of driving in training areas that include a combination of highways, city, and heavy traffic driving with emphasis on defensive driving. It also includes training on backing, safety and emergency procedures. After completion of the course, students are taken to the DMV to
take the CDL Driving and Skills test. Once the students passes the
test, the student will become a qualified entry-level Diesel
