MTS Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
At MTS’ new 5 acre facility head-quartered in
Vallejo, CA is housed a complete Maintenance and
Repair Department, that can service up to six heavy
duty vehicles at a time. Kevin Boyd has successfully
supervised this six man department for a good portion
of MTS’ 18 year history.
Boyd explains the service capability of MTS. “At
one time or another we’ve worked on a just about every
type of heavy duty vehicle,” says Boyd, “including
cranes, buses and trucks. There’s pretty much nothing
we can’t handle.” MTS services its own 50+ vehicle
fleet, as well as outside customers, providing all
phases of vehicle repair, including engine re-builds,
parts, and with a 5 acre facility MTS has the room for
additional growth and development.
Boyd also offers private schools Preventative
Maintenance (PM) Inspections in accordance with
CHP/DOT safety mandates for school buses, School Pupil
Activity Bus (SPAB), and Heavy Duty Trucks. MTS
services over 30 clients buses. Clients include El
Sobrante Christian School, St. Vincent High School,
St. Mary’s College and Schooler Translines.
The future looks bright for the Maintenance and
Repair Department at MTS as its own fleet and outside
customer base continue to expand.
MTS CEO Michael Brown attributes their
achievements to superior know-ledge of school bus
repair. “They have school bus repair down to a fine
science,” beams Brown. “That’s their real strength. News of their knowledge in this particular area of
expertise has spread by word-of-mouth, because they do
such a good.” Brown plans to start construction soon
on a longer repair building, which will accommodate up
to eight heavy duty vehicles. Completion is scheduled
in the spring of 2002.
